Chemotherapy Cycles For Poor Cancer Patients
Cancer is not only a disease but a trauma through which a family goes through. The aim of this project is to raise funds for cancer patients from disadvantaged families who are taking treatment at Tata Memorial Hospital, Wadia Hospital or a government hospital. Many of these patients come from rural parts of India and face tremendous challenges, besides the disease, when they come to Mumbai. Accommodation is one such challenge, besides the language, nutrition, understanding of the disease and finance.. A family also goes through tremendous financial constraints, many of them selling off their jewellery and land in the village to support the treatment. Patients on an average have to undergo 6-12 chemotherapy cycles. Cost of each cycle ranges from 5K to 15K which is taken over a period of a year.
